Adam Shoop – 2012 Muskegon Community Foundation Scholarship

Adam Shoop ($1000) – Rich McCarthy Scholarship

Adam will attend Northern Michigan University in the Fall of 2012.  He plans to earn a BA in History and Secondary Education.  Adam wants to be a high school teacher.  He is also interested in joining the Army.  His family is made up of generations of veterans and he would like to honor that legacy.  He thought about going straight into the military out of high school, but his parents (especially his father) have always hoped that he’d get a college degree.  Adam plans on enlisting in the National Guard in his second year at NMU and possibly joining ROTC.  If his plans come to fruition he will graduate college a second lieutenant in the Army.  He will then pursue an MA cost free and serve his country.
